New York University (NYU)

New York University is located on an urban campus in New York City. It has around 27,000 undergraduate students, about 24% of whom are from other countries, and accepts approximately 28% of early-decision applicants and 14% of regular-decision applicants.

The SAT or ACT is required at NYU for international students (Brazilians can submit ENEM or vestibular scores instead, if they wish). Competitive scores* range from 1350 to 1530 on the SAT and from 30 to 34 on the ACT. NYU has no minimum TOEFL score for admission, but 100 or above is considered competitive.

NYU offers partial need-based financial aid but is need-aware in admissions for international students (those who request financial assistance are less likely to be admitted). The average financial-aid award for international students is approximately US$20,000 per year. NYU also grants merit-based scholarships to international students.

* Half of admitted students score within this range. Twenty-five percent of students score below it and 25 percent score above it.
